"When the time came for Club Wash to record their debut 7" EP for Weatherproof Sounds, the choice for who was to record it was obvious: themselves! So Brian fired up his trusted 4 track and Julio brought over some serious condenser microphones to document some total rockage in their home studio. The Club was alive and they knew it after hearing the playbacks. "Solid Gold!" said an anonymous Club member. But suddenly, days into the sessions, the guys in the band stopped saying things like "Solid Gold!" and starting asking "What in the world is that noise that the 4 track is making in these headphones?!" Yes, it was true.. after many years of devoted service, Brian's 4-track (wait, what the heck am I talking about, it still -actually- belonged to Jesse Littlewood) gave up the ghost. Kicked the bucket. Gone to portable studio heaven. The sessions ended. Tears were shed. A piece of the Club is now gone forever...

As upset as the boys were over this loss, they couldn't forget that they still had an obligation under strict contract to Weatherproof Sounds. The 7" project must continue! So they pulled a few strings, and made a few well placed calls to secret industry big shots and got a hold of analog studio wiz Dan Rhiger! In late December of 2000, the boys booked time at his Medicine Whistle Studios, and blasted through 4 songs in record time. This is the type of studio session that goes so smoothly that most of what you will hear on the actual vinyl is first-take-magic. The Club has always loved to take their special brand of party music in a what you see is what you get type way, and this ultra smooth sounding disc is no exception. Look for it late this spring..."
